Cuckoo Giveaway At Smashwords

March 5, 2012 by Richard Wright in Journal

There are lots of ways to get an ebook copy of Cuckoo for free. Most of them involve annoying piracy sites, who don’t feel obligated to give me any money for giving you something I worked pretty hard on. This week, you’ve a new option. I’ll give you a full ebook of Cuckoo, for free. All you have to do is go to Smashwords and collect it.

It’s Read An Ebook Week at Smashwords, where you can already buy Cuckoo in every commercial format available. Whether you have a Kindle, a Nook, a Sony Reader, or just want a PDF copy you can print off and read, Smashwords has been making it available for $2.99 since the novel was released last year. For this week only, as part of the promotion inviting readers to try an ebook, I’m reducing the cover price of the novel to nothing-at-all.

Go and get a copy. Tell everyone you know who might enjoy it, and send them the link so they can get a copy themselves. Even if you’re not going to read it straight away, get your copy now, while it’s free. Put it on whatever reading device you use, or download the free Kindle application from Amazon and read it on your computer/phone/iPad. For free.

If you’ve already read Cuckoo, and want to spread the word to other people who might enjoy it, now’s the best time to do so. If they like it, they’ll thank you for letting them know. If they don’t, it’s free, so they won’t hold it against you. Please don’t just email a copy of the book to them, because then I’ll have no idea how many people are making use of the promotion (and I want to know, to find out whether it’s worth doing something similar with another book that I haven’t announced yet, later this year). Either send them the link to the book page, or use the gift option on the site.

For a quick preview of what’s waiting for you, I refer you to the recent review over on Bookgeeks.

Cuckoo for free, this week only. Go to it.
