If you’re an author, or a reader of paperback horror, you make yourself aware of the business practices currently in operation at Dorchester Publishing. Whether through incompetence or malice, they’re stealing from authors that used to make their money for them. Brian Keene tells you all about it here, and encourages you to boycott the company. Whether or not you choose to do so is your decision of course, but please read his post, and make sure you know the facts as they stand.
For the record, I won’t be picking up anything by this company until the situation is fully resolved, if indeed this happens. It’s hard enough to make a living today as an author, and publishers who put pesky things like checking whether they actually own the rights to the books they sell, or paying their authors, at the bottom of their to-do lists need to be challenged.
