A pleasant couple of days, both making headway on the current novel, and doing research for the December book. The former is flowing nicely, chapters coming together to form patterns that I hadn’t realised were going to be there, which is always nice. The latter has my head spinning with possibilities, and I’m eager to dive in. I’ve a fair bit of reading still to do though, so am holding back, making notes, letting it all brew. December should be a good month.
Over on Goodreads, the book giveaway for Nymphs of Krakow is hotting up, with (at the time of writing) 161 entries. More than I thought would try for it, to be honest. I hope some of those entries are you lot. Silly, not to give it a go, but you’ve still got a couple of days to throw your oar in.
Tonight, we’re off for a slightly premature Guy Fawkes celebration, during which will will burn stuffed terrorists and give children fire to play with. Not sure how that ties in with the mores of parental responsibility, but hey, everybody else is doing it.
Tomorrow, once we’ve applied whatever balms and salves are required to properly treat our burns, we’ll be hopping (literally in my case – the ankle still hasn’t sorted itself) on a plane down to Goa, for a couple of days of seaside based Diwali fun. Be patient, if you’re trying to get in touch with me, as it may be a couple of days before we’re back on the interweb again.
In the meantime, have a splendid Guy Fawkes Night, Diwali, or whatever you might choose to celebrate this week. If those don’t quite work for you, and nothing else is available, make something up and celebrate it anyway. Nobody will know but you and I.
