The Festive Mood

December 21, 2007 by Richard Wright in Journal, Life

Ahhhh… nothing says ‘Christmas’ quite like the first couple of Die Hard movies. Smirking, preposterous body counts, and gratuitous explosions – ho, ho, ho. Tomorrow should see the festive spirit continue, as my daughter will be performing in her Christmas show at her nursery. Should be fun. We’re promised mulled wine and music, as well as preposterous feelings of parental pride.

Today was something of a write off, thanks to a bottle of wine last night, but at least I didn’t have to do get up and do anything. Very much a duvet day. In the meantime, the new website layout is growing on me quite a lot. I put it up as an interim measure, intending to do a full overhaul in the New Year, but it might be around a while longer. We’ll see.

The only writing news today came in the form of a cheque and returned contract for a story in a book out next summer. Just in time for Christmas, which is nice timing. Yep, today it’s all good.

    I alerted you to the comments issue the other night when, pissing myself laughing, tried to post the following;

    “a bottle of wine” ha, ha.

    Quadruple that, and it’s acurate.

    It was actually supposed to read ‘a bottle of wine too many’, but the hangover was eating into my proofreading skills…
