As an avid watcher as a young kid during the late 1960s, I've never gotten beyond Doctor Who #2, Patrick (?) Troughton. Like Roger Moore's James Bond, Jon Pertwee's #3 was a little glib (or something) but I have to admit, Tom Baker, #4 pretty much nailed it.

After that I just got too old to bother adapting to a new Dr....though I'll admit to occasionally giving Billie Piper a perve or two.

Hi Richard

Nothing to do with your story, but when my PC crashed last year, I lost the bulk of my email address book (including, unfortunately, yours. The thing is, are you still up for being a pre-reader? If so, could you send me your email addy? Of course, if you don't have the time or inclination, just say so and I'll understand completely ;-)

Cheers

Mr Wright has every, er, right to grin. Lonely is a great story that fits the theme beautifully. It's also somewhat of a departure from the normal format for Short Trips stories, which is exactly what I had hoped to do with some of the pieces in this collection. Thanks for writing it, Rick.
