Welcome:

Welcome to the site. I'm a scribbler of horror and other dark fictions, and my novels and stories have been published in the UK and the US for the last fifteen years. I currently live in India, having been in Scotland for over a decade. For most of that time I've been writing one thing or another. Hopefully some of it has entertained you, or soon will. Let me know.

Kudos:

"In a genre where some of the most respected voices can't seem to get past vampires and serial killers, Wright doles out startlingly original ideas like he's throwing stones. More importantly, he's knocking us upside the head with them and making us think in a very enjoyable way." - Louis Maistros, Chiaroscuro

Publisher’s Synopsis - Dark Terrains… Matt Donovan stares into a mirror, and what looks back may not be entirely human… in a Glasgow nightclub cigarettes are smoked freely, but something enters with the fumes and refuses to leave… an angel and demon become lovers, and discover what happens when you work for God or the Devil and break the company rules… a man is tied down and subjected to the worst day of his life, and it will make or break him… when the Old Logeion theatre is scheduled for demolition it reaches out to show the developers that some ghosts have more power than others…

These and others form Richard Wright’s Dark Terrains, a collection of previously published fiction with a sprinkling of exclusive new writing (including the graphic novelette His Work To See), illustrated throughout by cover artist Simon Wright.

  3. Richard Wright Says:

Review“Many of the stories are quite compelling, including “The Jealous Dead,” which perfectly lampoons (in a very serious way) the attention lavished on Princess Diana’s passing; “Feedback,” a quirky story about an unfortunate day in the life of a man who doesn’t realize that he’s an empath; and “The Ghosts of Christmas Presents,” a story about love and murdered kittens that is almost heartwarming.”
