Welcome:

Welcome to the site. I'm a scribbler of horror and other dark fictions, and my novels and stories have been published in the UK and the US for the last fifteen years. I currently live in India, having been in Scotland for over a decade. For most of that time I've been writing one thing or another. Hopefully some of it has entertained you, or soon will. Let me know.

Kudos:

"In a genre where some of the most respected voices can't seem to get past vampires and serial killers, Wright doles out startlingly original ideas like he's throwing stones. More importantly, he's knocking us upside the head with them and making us think in a very enjoyable way." - Louis Maistros, Chiaroscuro

Publisher’s Synopsis - Greg Summers is an ordinary man in a mundane job with a contented wife and a future snug enough to struggle for. That all changes when he returns home one day to discover that his wife no longer recognises him at all, that his wife is in fact married to another man called Greg Summers.

Perhaps it is an elaborate hoax, a conspiracy to unnerve and derange him. Yet that wouldn’t account for the extraordinarily vivid flashbacks to his early years, or the stray memories that come from nowhere and belong to an entirely separate man. A man called Jameson.

One of these men is a lie, and neither wish it to be he. On the run from a creature that cannot exist, his comfortable truths irrevocably shattered.

Greg Summers and Richard Jameson are about to discover that the fight to survive is all in the mind.

Review – “This, you will find yourself thinking when you come up for air, is a major talent. Here is an author you could lose some sleep over. If you haven’t latched onto any of his short fiction, Cuckoo is going to be the lure that puts you on the lookout for more of his stuff.”

Review – “Throughout the novel you begin to sympathize with Greg as he searches to find out the truth and learns that perhaps his whole life has been a lie. The plot soon takes strange (although believable) and unexpected twists that leave you wondering what in the hell is going on. And you ask yourself, how is Greg going to get his ass out of this one alive?”

Review - “Read and enjoy this suspenseful thriller (science fiction? fantasy? horror?–who cares), and be glad that you aren’t trapped in Wright’s world. At least, hope that you aren’t.”

  5. Richard Wright Says:

Review - “Cuckoo is an incredible blend of suspense and sheer horror that builds into a terrifying climax. After reading Cuckoo I was afraid to turn off the lights and go to bed. Warning: Don’t read Cuckoo at night.”

  6. Richard Wright Says:

Review - “A plot as wild as this could have easily spun out of control, but Wright holds the reins tight. His dexterity is dazzling.”
